eFlash Usage

 

Modern products with portability, better performance, reduced dimensions, cost effectiveness, low power consumption and etc. Most of SOC, e.g. MCU, IoT, and smartcard solutions, is operated at 3.3V or 1.8V. Some reach reports show the significant trend to lower Vdd and low power consumption in MCU/IoT/smartcard applications for keeping longer standby time and better performance.

Actually, the processor, SRAM & RF circuit of the IC can be operated below 1.2V, but current commercial embedded Flash needs at least 1.8V. Therefore, the bottleneck of lowering IC input voltages is embedded Flash elements.
